At International Export Packers, no two days are ever the same. One day you could be building a bespoke timber crate for a Formula One car, the next producing export packaging for specialist engineering equipment or a 50-tonne industrial generator destined for the other side of the world.
We are specialists in designing and manufacturing bespoke timber export packaging for customers across a wide range of industries. Every project is built to exact customer specifications, meaning you'll use your skills to create high-quality, custom-made solutions rather than repetitive production line work.
Due to continued growth, we're looking for experienced, practical individuals to join our skilled Export Packing & Despatch team at our Newark facility. If you enjoy working with timber, take pride in producing quality workmanship and are looking to build a long-term career with a growing business, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing:
As part of our experienced team, you'll be responsible for:
- Manufacturing bespoke timber export crates, cases and pallets.
- Export packing customer products safely and securely for worldwide transportation.
- Operating woodworking machinery, including crosscut and bench saws.
- Using pneumatic and cordless gas nail guns.
- Working to high standards of quality, accuracy and health & safety.
- Loading, moving and manually handling timber and finished products.
- Supporting Goods In and Despatch activities where required.
As your experience develops, you'll also have opportunities to carry out export packing work at customer sites throughout the UK. Most visits are completed within the working day, although occasional overnight stays may be required.
What we're looking for:
Essential
- Experience using crosscut or bench saws.
- Experience using pneumatic or cordless gas nail guns.
- Experience working with timber or plywood.
Desirable
- Counterbalance Forklift licence.
- Overhead Crane experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
This is a physically active role involving regular manual handling and lifting of timber panels and completed crates, so you'll need to be comfortable working in a busy manufacturing environment.
Why join International Export Packers?
We're proud to offer more than just a job, our benefits include:
- 30 days' holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), increasing with length of service to 33 days per year.
- Regular overtime opportunities.
- Time and a half and double-time overtime rates.
- Structured training and development.
- Genuine opportunities for career progression.
- Free on-site parking.
- Employee Assistance Programme.
Why work with us?
International Export Packers has built its reputation on quality, reliability and craftsmanship.
Our team designs, manufactures and exports bespoke timber packaging for customers throughout the UK and across the globe. Every project presents a new challenge, every crate is built to order, and every member of the team plays an important role in ensuring our customers' products arrive safely, wherever in the world they're going.
If you're looking for a varied, hands-on role where you can take pride in what you produce and become part of a skilled, supportive team, we'd love to hear from you.
